Bertha's Best Friends

In a dog eat dog world, you've gotta be careful who you trust. These are the lucky few who have earned their way to her heart through love, time, play, and, most importantly, food.

Danny

Bertha's owner at work! Bertha, just 7 weeks old, immediately took a liking to Danny and since then they have been inseparable. She has learned the following tricks: spin right and left, rollover, back, touch, popcorn, shake, speak, wait, get, all done, and kennel. Bertha spends the most time with Danny--she still follows him around like she's a puppy! When people watch them together, it's clear that Danny and Bertha have an unbreakable bond.

Danny's favorite memory of Bertha was when they first got her and were driving home. Suddenly, it started to smell terrible! The family assumed it was the other dog, Jazz, and pulled over to let her go to the bathroom. But even after Jazz took a potty break, the smell continued! Turns out, Bertha was simply farting up a storm. From that moment forward, Bertha has been known to have the smelliest farts of the family.

Jazz

Jazz Jazz is one of the sweetest dogs we know and has wise eyes. Although she is incredibly furry and fluffy and seems to be a mix of breeds, she is a 100% purebred German Shepard!

Jazz taught Bertha all the doggie manners she knows. Being about 3 years older than Bertha, Jazz keeps Bertha in her place. Like Bertha, Jazz enjoys barking at people when they arrive and greeting them at their car door. Jazz is often seen barking at --or encouraging-- Bertha while Bertha is trying to play fetch.

Maggie

Maggie Maggie belongs to the Monroe Family. She is a rescue dog brought up from a high-kill shelter in California and was named "Agnus" by the shelter, to which her family says, "Agnus?! What, is she a cow?!" She may have been a hefty dog at 100 lbs when she was originally rescued from the shelter, but she has since lost 20 lbs and goes on walks two times a day. Maggie, like Jazz, is super sweet and has wise eyes.

She has grown protective of her family and loves rolling around in the grass after walks.

Rasta

Rasta Lucky for Bertha and Rasta, they don't live too far apart. Rasta's wild spirit is the perfect complement to Bertha's high energy--together they go on some wild adventures! They often meet up on the Centennial Trail and go from there...we have yet to catch them in the act. All we can gather from their stories are spontaneous trips to Jamaica, ziplining in Hawaii, and getting kicked out of pubs in Ireland.

Rasta, like Bertha, loves to play fetch and is very sweet. She has recently taken on a new workout plan with her owner and hopes to compete in Doggie Weight Lifting Competitions by the end of the year. She is often taking pictures of her progress and posting about her muscles. Her confidence has grown so much that she even started a Tinder! What a hot mess
